Are you headed to Juneau on an Alaskan cruise? You'll only have around 10 hours to spend ashore, so make the most of your time in Juneau--and plan a great day in port--with this CruisePortInsider Guide!
This CruisePortInsider Guide to Juneau has been completely updated for the 2015 Alaska Cruise Ship Season.
Juneau is the most popular Alaskan cruise port, and there are many fun things to do here in Alaska’s capital city. Juneau’s attractions include nearby Mendenhall Glacier, whale watching, glacier flightseeing, fishing, kayaking, exploring the city’s popular gardens, dog sledding, bicycling and so much more!
Whether you're looking for the perfect cruise line shore excursion, or want to do your own thing during your visit, you'll find this guide to be indispensable. You'll also find restaurant and shopping recommendations, a list of the “Top 10 Things to Do” while in town, a complete list of cruise line schedules and detailed maps for shopping and dining venues, and for locating ATMs and Wi-Fi hotspots. You’ll also find extensive shore excursion descriptions and pricing, information on the local cuisine, how to get around town and what events and festivals may be taking place during your visit. Plus if you want to do your own thing, we include all the contact information you'll need to arrange the perfect independent shore trip.
This is an eBook you’ll want to take along on your cruise, as it’s a great reference when you want to do some last minute research on your destination while at sea; doing the same research using your ship’s slow Wi-Fi can be really expensive.
Make the most of your time in town with this CruisePortInsider Guide, and enjoy your time in Juneau!

I've started checking Kindleunlimited for free travel guides when planning trips. It's a case of no-harm-no-foul if they aren't helpful and almost always there's something in them that turns out to be useful. For example, this guide has a complete list of all cruise boat arrivals for 2015, so you can tell beforehand hand which days will be most crowded by tourists. The map of ATM's and WiFi hotspots is helpful. There was interesting info about Mendenhall Glacier. The "To Do" and "Don't Miss" type lists are always a good way to double-check the thoroughness of your other research or to just whet your interest.
There's probably nothing in here that you couldn't ultimately find on the internet. This is not one of those idiosyncratic local insider books that tells you how to get in to Diagon Alley. But, especially if you're just starting your research, this is a compact, accessible and convenient way to get oriented and get started. A very handy find.
